Oma ist ein toller Typ
Die haben alle Leute lieb
Und weil sie heut Geburtstag hat
Ham wir uns was ausgedacht
Wir singen Dir ein Liedchen fein
Da wirst du ganz begeistert sein
Und bei diesem Lobgesang
Da muss auch die Verwandtschaft ran
Oma, Oma du bist echt OK
Oma, Oma every time fair play
Oma, Oma every time fair play
Oma liebt die Welt so sehr
Doch die Rente reicht nicht mehr
Deshalb sind wir heute hier
Und Timmy bringt die Welt zu dir
Und weil uns auch die Scheine fehlen
Mussten wir Flaschen sammeln gehen
Wir ham den ganzen Pfand gespart
Und jetzt geht es auf große Fahrt
Oma, Oma du bist echt OK
Oma, Oma wir fahren an die See
Juchhee!

Omas Song

Wie? Sterben?
Fokus?

Denn ganz egal was ich gesponnt
Ich möchte nicht mich selbst verpassen

back at UiT
After a quiet summer, I resumed my studies again and until now
everything feels a little more authentically compared to last year.
Finally I have the feeling that we are not only engaged in idle
discussions but much more that "some" people do have a lot of things
to say. A lot of things which are not only based on personal and
emotion laden meaning but as well on reflection and research. I was
missing this during the first to semesters. Maybe it got something to
do with the fact that after studying for one year, most of the people
now have something to talk about and maybe it has something to do with
the developing social process amongst the students and especially in
our course. It doesn't matter what it is, I definitely know that I
like it much better this way. I reckon, that everybody who believes in
deliberation and discussion as some form of looking for truth, has to
feel this way.
I still do feel uncomfortable about the academic way of doing things
and especially doing research, but think I feel that my attitudes
towards it just began to change slightly. I don't see it as limitation
or threat to my free (if it is possible to put it in this way) and
creative thoughts, but much more as a given structure, which I can as
well use for methodological advance (read training).

quiet summer
Until now it has been a quiet summer so I got some time to update my blogg.
I started this summer on the 8th of June when I handed inn my last essay in philosophy of science. My neighbours from Germany came all the way up to Tromsø and together we drove down to southern Norway. There I met up with my family and we spent a couple of days on Jæren Folkehøgskole which is close to Stavanger.
After that we went to Germany and I spent about 3 weeks visiting all the grandmas and grandpas and, of course, my friends in Cottbus and Berlin. I really needed some time to acclimatise but after I got used to big cities again, it was great being with all the people I love.
Since I came back to Tromsø I've been working pretty much all the time at the pub, doing the guided tours and selling beer to all the funny tourists from the cruise boats.
Most of the international students from the last two semesters left already and so there were a lot of god-bye-parties going on during the last three weeks. It's really sad that so many god friends left and I was expecting a real down-time. But the new students are arriving already so we continue the partying and use the opportunity to introduce the freshmen to Norwegian culture and Tromsø life ;)

job at MACK
Little Timmy got himself a job at the worlds northernmost brewery MACK. Actually I’m not working in the brewery but at the pub of the brewery. At the moment I’m training to become a guide for all the nice German pensioners coming to Tromsø in summer to enjoy our famous beer ;)

„To every man is given the key to the gates of heaven. The same key opens the gates of hell“
what has he done
and why did he do
where is he gone
I don't have a clue
through himself and through me
through the world just to be
divine and so high
and uncertain to die

the sun is back
The sun is back! It was right there over the mountain tops for about 2 hours. It's a great feeling to sense these warm rays again. It just so good to have it back and finally we can stop eating all these vitamin pills ;)

first reactions
Dear Teater Aksen,
Just wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on the play! I have had some wonderful feedback! I realise that you have not had the exact audience reaction you thought you would get but I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with that. Matthew tells me people are leaving talking about what the hell they have just seen and during the interval there are a lot of confused people! I am pleased about this – what’s theatre if it’s not challenging and pushing the boundaries! I just hope you all know what a good play this is and how well you are doing it!
Some audience comments so far!....
“By far the best acting I have seen!”
“It’s either the worst or the best play I’ve seen – just trying to work it out!”
“The animal scenes were great – I didn’t quite understand the rest!”
“I thought I had just walked in on someone’s rehearsal!”
“I feel so emotional… and a little scared!”
You have sparked lots of discussion which is a huge compliment. We really have challenged the genre of theatre people are used to seeing here.
I also wanted to take the chance to say thank you again for putting so much effort and professionalism into this project. I know some of you are leaving the group and I thought I’d take this opportunity to wish you every success with where you are going! So, enjoy the last performance tonight – have a great celebration afterwards and have fun filming tomorrow.
Love you all!
Jill x

"R"EVOLUSJON
Ok, guys that's the play I'll be performing in. It's based on Animal Farm by George Orwell but there is more to it. In fact it's two plays in one and I reckon it is meant to be a comical tragedy about group processes and theater industry.

'R'EVOLUTION
Student Theatre Aksen will proudly present its performance "R"EVOLUTION on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (19:00) and Saturday (18:00) this week. The play is based on Animal Farm by George Orwell but we worked hard to make it into something different.

The play will be in Norwegian

The Lives of The Others
I wrote the following literary text as a consequence of an associative process after I had seen the movie "The Lives of the Others". A movie made in Germany that gives a face to the "STASI" (state security) in former East Germany. The english titel of my text would be "Walls we built/d"
Entfernt
Was bleibt ist Sein und Nichtsein
zum möglichen Dasein
Das sind wir
Da sind wir
